Why gaming accounts are a target
With a licensed Czech operator, accounts are verified, at Tipsport Vegas online through BankID, and winnings are paid to the player's verified bank account. That link makes login details valuable. Someone who gets into an account may try to change its settings, spend the balance or misuse personal data for further fraud. Even more dangerous is a scam that captures your internet banking login, because BankID verification runs through your bank.
Anatomy of a phishing message
Most scams follow the same pattern. Learning to recognise its parts is more useful than memorising individual messages.
- A hook. A bonus waiting for you, a large win or free spins that expire today.
- Pressure. Your account will be blocked, your winnings will be lost, you have only a few hours.
- A link. Instead of telling you to open the site yourself, the message gives you a link to click.
- A request. Log in, confirm your identity, enter a banking code or pay a small fee to release a payout.
A genuine offer survives you ignoring the link and logging in the usual way. Tipsport Vegas offers differ by campaign and the specific offer is shown to the player after logging in, so there is no need to follow a link to see it. What to look for in the terms of an offer is covered in Wagering requirements explained.
Checking the address before you log in
- Type the address yourself or use a saved bookmark instead of links in messages.
- Read the whole domain in the address bar, not just the start. Fake addresses often place a brand name inside a longer address, for example as a subdomain of an unrelated site.
- For Tipsport, the login page is at tipsport.cz/prihlaseni.
- Install the Tipsport mobile app for Android or iOS only from the official store for your system.
- Remember that the padlock icon only means an encrypted connection, not that the site is genuine.
BankID and banking details
When you verify through BankID, the operator sends you to your own bank's environment. Anyone asking for your banking login or confirmation codes by email, chat or phone is attempting fraud. Banks and casino operators do not ask for them that way.
Fake support and social media
Another common trick is a social media profile using a brand's logo that offers help with a delayed withdrawal. It asks for login details or a fee to release the money. Contact customer support only through the operator's official website or app, never through accounts that contact you first. A real support team will not ask you to pay to receive your own winnings.
Fake apps, tips and winning systems
Besides copies of login pages, there is another kind of scam. Social media and chat groups sell slot tips, apps that supposedly predict wins and systems that promise a sure profit. Ads for them often use photos of well-known people who have nothing to do with them.
- The outcome of a slot is decided by a random number generator. Nobody outside the game can predict or influence it.
- An app that claims to know when a slot will pay is most often a tool to steal data or extract a payment.
- Whoever sells a sure profit from gambling earns from the sale, not from the game.
How slots really decide the result is explained in Slot myths and how random number generators work.
If you have already clicked
Speed matters more than embarrassment. The sooner you act, the less damage an attacker can do.
- If you entered your gaming password, change it immediately through the official website and check that your contact details have not been changed.
- If you entered banking details or confirmed BankID, call your bank right away using its official contact.
- Tell the operator's customer support through its official website what happened.
- Review recent deposits, withdrawals and logins in your account.
- If you lost money, report it to the Czech police.
Habits that lower the risk
- Use a unique password for your gaming account that you do not use anywhere else.
- Keep your phone and browser up to date.
- Do not log in on shared or public computers.
- Before you play on any new site, check the operator using the steps in How to check a Czech gambling licence.
